Hello All,
Excitement is building for the Rome EFB Users Forum in just two weeks. The session topics will be Regulatory, Human Factors, Security and Connectivity, and Operator Experiences. As always, we will have fresh speakers, but this time with a slight change in format. We typically hold four presentation sessions of one half day each. In Rome however, we will offer the first half of everyone's favorite- Operator Experiences- on Day One, and the second half on Day Two. Human Factors will be the complementary split session so that the four topics will be covered over six presentation sessions. Coffee breaks will continue in the usual fashion midway through the morning and afternoon on each day- please see the attached preliminary agenda.

On Day One, representatives from the FAA, EASA and Eurocontrol will describe recent changes and anticipated developments in the Regulatory realm. Industry experts will detail advancements in Human Factors, and some of Europe's premier airlines will present their EFB programs in Operator Experiences. Day One events will culminate with an enjoyable Welcome Reception hosted by AirWatch. This will be the perfect opportunity for you to network, reconnect with old friends, and review the day's activities. You will not want to miss this event!

On Day Two, Datalink, Satcom and hardware suppliers will present in the Security and Connectivity Session. Experts from the FAA and suppliers will share their views on Human Factors issues and future development. Finally, if you operate Boeing B737 or B777 aircraft, you cannot afford to miss Operator Experiences on Day 2. The FAA recently published an Airworthiness Directive (AD)-attached above- that may limit your ability to use WiFi on the flight deck. Southwest will tell an interesting story about a regulatory path to achieve the goal of using airborne WiFi, and how the collaborative work this Forum is doing may help you and others. With this powerful speaker lineup, you can be certain the Rome EFB Users Forum will be another successful event.

The EXPO promises to be memorable as well. In customary fashion, it will run from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Tuesday, November 11th, the day preceding the Forum. Our suppliers will showcase their latest products and services in a casual, relaxed atmosphere. The EXPO will feature a Mediterranean buffet with wine, beer, and soft drinks at an open bar. Be sure to stop by and see the latest offerings. If you are a supplier considering exhibiting at the EXPO, there are only a few booths remaining- please see the attached EXPO layout.

If you are planning to attend this Forum but have not yet registered, please use the links provided in the above meeting notice to register with ARINC. Advance ARINC registration will close on Friday, October 31st. If you do not register in advance, you will be required to do so at the door. Unfortunately, the special discounted room block is now filled, and the hotel is completely sold out for Thursday night, November 13th. However, if you are departing on the 14th, or wish to stay near the airport that evening for a Friday morning departure, some rooms are still available for the other nights earlier in the week. Please use the hyperlink provided above in the original meeting announcement to contact the hotel directly.

On behalf of the EFB Leadership Team, we look forward to seeing you all again in Rome!

Best Regards,

                                Peter
