            Hello All,

Excitement is building for EFB Users Forum XIII which is now just six weeks away. The session topics will be Regulatory, Security and Connectivity, Mitigation Strategies, and Operator Experiences. This EFB Users Forum promises to be momentous. At previous forums you have heard about the work which Jeppesen has been leading on ownship position, and Southwest has been leading on cockpit WiFi. In Honolulu, you will learn how these two initiatives, rapidly reaching conclusion, will soon produce major positive effects for airlines and their flight operations that you can leverage. Our presenters will be discussing these accomplishments and the associated regulatory developments. You will also hear about the significant progress being made in satcom, connectivity, how to integrate mobile and installed technologies, and how to coordinate and organize your EFB applications. These successes are only possible because of the relationships built at our conference. We invite you to engage and ask questions of our experts, or chat informally with them during one of the coffee breaks or lunch.

The Main EXPO in Honolulu will take place on Tuesday, November 1st. It will begin at 2:00 PM and continue through 7:00 PM, and will include local Hawaiian specialties and an open bar from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Be sure to stop by to see the latest offerings - you will not be disappointed. If you miss some exhibitors on Tuesday, or want to revisit them again, you can take advantage of the Supplemental EXPO on Wednesday November 2nd during coffee breaks and lunch. Over three quarters of the available exhibit locations have already been reserved. If you are planning to exhibit in Honolulu but have not yet made your reservation, please contact Lori Hess as soon as possible at lorine.hess at sae-itc.org<mailto:lorine.hess at sae-itc.org>.

The Forum begins on Wednesday November 2nd with our Regulatory session, where you will hear the latest developments on the AMC 20-25 and upcoming AC 120-76D direct from the authorities who write them. The afternoon session will be Security and Connectivity, where you will learn what is new in satcom broadband and how to keep it secure.

The Thursday morning November 3rd session will be Mitigation Strategies, which will include not only failure and recovery, but other related subjects as well. The afternoon session will be the ever popular Operator Experiences. You will hear from new airlines which have never before presented, as well as learn the reasons behind their unique solutions.

This Forum and its contributors have led many advancements in EFB. However, no matter how great these strides have been, there are still larger gains yet to be realized. Full-time air to ground connectivity, flight operations and back-office integration, and cabin device deployment are just a few initiatives already in the works. Do you want to help shape your own destiny and that of your industry? Then be sure to come to Honolulu, be prepared to share your desires, and get involved!

Best Regards,
