[IPS_Aero] ARINC Project Paper 858 - Multi-Part Document Proposal

Dear IPS Subcommittee Participant,

I'd like to call your attention to a presentation and discussion held earlier today that recommends the development and publication of ARINC Project Paper 858 in two parts per the note from Mike Olive provided below.

The upside to this proposal is that IPS Gateway material gets elevated to ARINC Gray Cover status and it can evolve independent of other ARINC 858 material published as Part 1.

Paul,
The attached file summarizes two options for handling the IPS Gateway material as discussed during the coordination call with the Chairs this morning.  At the conclusion of the call, there was general consensus among you, me, Luc, and Greg to move the IPS Gateway material to Part 2 of PP858 in lieu of moving it to an attachment within PP858. Consequently, PP858 would become a multi-part document with the following parts:
*         PP858 Part 1 - Airborne IPS System
*         PP858 Part 2 - IPS Gateway.
The effort to move the material to a new part is similar to moving the material to an attachment.  However, in addition to giving the IPS Gateway additional emphasis, the multi-part approach facilitates future document maintenance since the two parts can be updated separately.

As discussed, please convey this preferred approach to the AEEC IPS participants.  Since I plan to move the IPS Gateway material this week, I greatly appreciate any feedback ASAP.
