[SAI] 12July: Aircraft Network meeting invitation

Dear Aircraft Network Specialist:

In preparation for the AEEC Mid-Term Session to be held later this year, a special web conference has been called to discuss several aircraft data network topics. The meeting will take place Tuesday, July 12 starting at 0800PDT, 1100EDT, 1700CET.

Topics for discussion:
1) Security Data Logging – ARINC Project Paper 852 is approaching maturity. Questions have been raised by the respective airframe manufacturers, Airbus and Boeing. The purpose of the call is to respond to any questions they may have.

2) Digital Certificates – Supplement 2 to ARINC Report 842 is expected to be prepared in the coming months as a result of airline support for APIM 16-004 in Atlanta. The purpose of the call is to discuss the tasks, schedule and plans for completion.

3) Broadband network interface for PIES/AIS.  -- NOTE: START TIME 0900PDT, 1200EDT, 1600CET.
The APIM 16-xxx has been under discussion in one form or another since June 2014. There is growing support on a practical level for implementations that will enable AIS applications to use PIES networks, connectivity and services and maintain a secure connections. The purpose of the call is two-fold: i) broaden the base of support for this project and ii) focus specifically on the benefits of standardization, i.e., what would an ARINC Standard accomplish that the marketplace would not accomplish on its own? Short presentations are invited.
