[SAI] TRFD Working Group Patent Disclosure

Hello All,



   As discussed in the Virtual TRFD Meeting last week, we will hold a dedicated meeting on September 2nd to review the Patent Disclosure by FLYHT regarding TFD.   There are three possible courses of action at this time:

  1.  Revise the language to avoid patent infringement;
  2.  Eliminate TFD from the Standard;
  3.  Invite FLYHT to include their IP and offer it under fair, reasonable, and non-discriminatory (FRAND) terms

Everyone should consider the implications and potential impact to their business interests.  Please be prepared to discuss this at the dedicated meeting.  The presentation given by FLYHT is attached above and is also posted in Sharepoint for review.   I look forward to speaking with you all again then.
