Hello All,
    Preparations are continuing for EFB Users Forum IX next month in Rome.    The four session topics will be: Regulatory, Human Factors, Security and Connectivity, and Operator Experiences.   As always, we will have a powerful lineup of fresh speakers to update you on all of the latest developments.   The last presentation on the second day will be interesting to say the least.  Do you operate Boeing B737 or B777 aircraft? Do you have inflight WiFi installed?  Do you wish to connect your EFB to that WiFi system? As you may know, the FAA recently published an AD that may limit your ability to use WiFi on the flight deck.  Southwest Airlines will tell an interesting story about a regulatory path to achieve the goal of using airborne WiFi and how the collaborative work this Forum is doing may help other operators as well.
   If you are planning to attend this Forum but have not yet registered, please use the link provided in the above meeting notice to register with ARINC.  If you are planning to stay at the Marriott Park Hotel, but have not yet made your reservations, the hotel has agreed to extend the registration deadline to obtain the special group rate to October 15th.  The rate is € 117 per night (which includes breakfast and hotel-wide internet).  After that date, you may still be able to reserve a room using the link.  However, any unsold rooms will be released from the block and the special rate cannot be guaranteed.
