[Announce] FW: 25AUG: SAI Subcommittee - Special Session to Review APIMs

Dear SAI Subcommittee participant:

I am pleased to send nine (9) APIMs intended for review prior to the presentation next week at the SAI Subcommittee Special Session on Wednesday, August 25.
*       Among the nine APIMs presented for discussion, the majority (6 of 9) are updates to exiting APIMs already approved by the AEEC. The updates describe changes to the program schedule, and in some cases program scope, as provided by the respective AEEC Subcommittee.
*       APIM 21-006 - New APIM proposing formal re-activation of Fiber Optic Subcommittee to define F/O transceiver standards as Supplements to ARINC 803 and ARINC 804
*       APIM 21-007 - New APIM that expands ARINC 653 Real-Time Operating System definition
*       APIM 16-015A is unchanged. It calls for the definition of IT ground infrastructure to support eEnabled aircraft. This has been an ongoing discussion for 5 years.

Comments before August 25 are invited. Keep in mind that these APIMs are considered draft and they are intended for approval by the AEEC Executive Committee at the AEEC Mid-Term Session to be held October 7, 2021 online.

Hope all is well. A special meeting has been arranged for Wednesday, August 25 to review APIMs expected to be presented to the AEEC Executive Committee for consideration at the AEEC Mid-Term Session to be held October 7, 2021. Several APIMs will announce specific changes to the activity scope and schedule. New Fiber Optic transceiver standards will be proposed. A summary is attached to this invitation.

The APIM documents are expected to be available by August 18.

The SAI Subcommittee meeting will start at 0700PDT, 1000EDT, 1600CET.
